Acer palmatum var. dissectum 'Crimson Queen'Crimson Queen Japanese MapleTruly outstanding in foliage and form.  Young leaves are finely cut and of the darkest purple-red, and maintain that color throughout the summer.  Autumn brings clear reddish purple foliage color.  The form is wider than tall, weeping or cascading.  
Acer platanoides 'Crimson King'Crimson King MapleThe dense foliage of this slow growing shade tree remains an excellent maroon red all season long.  Spring flowers of attractive maroon and yellow are a bonus.  This cultivar, known for it's straight trunk and well shaped head, originated as a seedling of 'Schwedleri'
Acer platanoides 'Crimson SentryCrimson Sentry MapleThis bud sport of 'Crimson King' has an upright branching habit, with leaves closely spaced along the branches for a very dense appearance.  It's slow growth makes it ideal for narrow streets and small yards.  The spring foliage is a brighter red than 'Crimson King'
Acer platanoides 'Deborah'Deborah MapleDiscovered as a 'Schwedleri' seedling in Canada in 1967, this COPF introduction is similar the Schwedler but has a superior branching habit.  A vigorous grower with a strong, straight central leader, it has brilliant red spring foliage that turns to dark green throughout summer.
Acer platanoides 'Princeton Gold'Princeton Gold MapleThis attractive Norway selection makes a stunning accent plant in the landscape.  The foliage is bright golden yellow, especially when young, and the color holds well throughout the summer.  Nicely shaped, this is definitely a tree that attracts attention.
Acer platanoides 'Variegatum'Variegated Norway MapleThis Norway selection is an unusual specimen tree that is certain to draw attention.  A dense shade tree, it is known for its straight trunk and well shaped crown, but most notably for its beautiful variegated foliage.  Leaves are green with an attractive creamy white margin.
Acer platanoides 'Royal Red'Royal Red MapleThis Norway Maple selection is similar to 'Crimson King', but with a somewhat slower growth rate and what some consider slightly better color.  A dense shade tree, it has a straight trunk with a well shaped canopy.  The glossy foliage is an excellent maroon red all season.
Acer rubrum 'Polara'Rubyfrost MapleUniform and broadly oval growth habit, excellent drought tolerance, and good ruby red fall color.  This is an excellent new Red Maple for northern areas.
Acer saccharum 'Bailsta'Fall Fiesta Sugar MapleOne look is all you'll need to see that Fall Fiesta is superior to the sort.  The branching is full and symmetrical.  Leathery, glossy, deep green leaves are resistant the leaf tatter and leafhopper damage.  A rapid grower, easy to transplant and also resistant to sun scald and frost cracks.  Outstanding fall color, shows far more oranges and reds that other Sugar Maples.  Prefers a moist yet well drained soil with slight acidity for optimum growth.
Acer x freemanii 'JeffersRed'Autumn Blaze MapleThis hybrid of Silver and Red Maple has experienced phenomenal popularity due to its ascending branch habit, rapid growth rate, drought tolerance, ability to grow in most soils, beautiful fall color and form.  It was selected at the 1997 Iowa Tree of the year.
Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Autumn Brilliance'Autumn Brilliance ServiceberryThis tremendously popular tree offers white blossoms in the spring, followed by showy, sweet purplish black fruit.  Heavily branched, the tree has an interesting spreading branch patter, and attractive light gray bark .  The brilliant falls leaves are quite persistent.
Betula nigraRiver BirchThis river bottom native also does well on upland soils.  Resistant to bronze birch borer, it has nice yellow fall color, and attractive cinnamon brown exfoliating bark for an interesting winter effect.
Betula x Royal Frost BirchRoyal Frost BirchThis Birch has the best from both of it's parents.  From 'Whitespire' it inherited beautiful white bark and resistance to the Bronze Birch Borer.  From 'Crimson Frost' comes burgundy red foliage.  The combination of two colors makes this an outstanding specimen tree.  Much faster growing than 'Crimson Frost'.
Catalpa speciosa NorthernNorthern CatalpaThis fast growing tree has few branches at an early age.  Once branched, ascending limbs are gnarled and twisted.  In June 2" long tube like white flowers appear in 4-8" panicles.  Fruit is a long persistent pod.  Great for xeriscapes, it is very tolerant and adaptable.
Caragana arborescens 'Walker'Walker Weeping CaraganaBudded on a standard, this small tree has finely cut foliage for a fern like appearance.  Strongly weeping, Walker was developed at the Morden Plant Research Station in Manitoba, Canada.  An outstanding accent plant for limited areas, it bears bright yellow flowers in spring.  
Caragana arborescens 'Pendula'Weeping CaraganaThis Caragana arborescens is budded on a standard, resulting in an attractive weeping plant.  The finely textured foliage creates a cascading effect, emphasized by the yellow pea like flowers in spring.  This tree is an excellent plant for the home landscape.
Cercis canadensisMN Strain RedbudThis handsome tree bears small pink flowers in spring before leaves appear.  Later brown fruit pods form.  This strain is grown from seed collected at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.  It does well in sun and part shade.  Selected for hardiness by the U of Minnesota and introduced in 1992.
Cercis canadensis 'Covey'Lavender Twist RedbudCovered with lavender pink blooms before the new foliage emerges in early spring.  Dark green heart shaped leaves on a contoured weeping branches create an umbrella shaped crown.  A wonderful focal point for the landscape with multi-season interest.
Chionanthus virginicus White FringetreeWhite FringetreeThis slow growing native is especially beautiful in spring when profuse white blooms appear before foliage.  Dark blue fruit follows later in the summer.  Tolerant of city conditions, including pollution, it prefers deep, moist, fertile soils and full to part sun.  
Ginkgo biloba 'Autumn Gold'Autumn Gold GinkgoA male selection of Gingko with a symmetrical conical form, turning broader with age.  A nice yellow fall color.  Selected by the Saratoga Hort. Foundation in CA, introduced in 1955.
Gleditsia triacanthos var. inermis 'Suncole'Sunburst HoneylocustThis cultivar is noted for foliage that emerges bright golden bronze, fades to green as it matures, then colors golden yellow again in fall.  Thornless and seedless, it is great for light, filtered shade.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight'Limelight Hydrangea - Tree FormPerfect for smaller gardens.  Makes a great vertical accent in borders and decorative containers.  Bright, lime green flowers add a much needed brightness to the late summer landscape.  In autumn the blooms display shades of pink, burgundy and green.  Excellent vigor and floriferous blooming.  Flowers on new wood, so it can be pruned in winter or early spring.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Bulk'QuickFire Hydrangea - Tree Form Perfect for smaller gardens.  Makes a great vertical accent in borders and decorative containers.  Quick to bloom, a month earlier than other varieties.  Will flower in May or early June depending on your location.  The flowers will turn a deep pink.  A terrific way to extend your hydrangea season.
Magnolia x 'Ann'Ann MagnoliaAnn was selected especially for it's late bloom avoiding hazards of the late frost.  It has lightly scented red purple 7-9" flowers that emerge from beautifully tapered buds.  Best grown in normal garden soil in full sun.
Magnolia ButterfliesMagnolia ButterfliesConsidered one of the finest of all yellow flowering Magnolias.  Abundant 4-5 inch rich yellow, double flowers look spectacular in the spring garden.  Blossoms are held upright like butterflies alighting on a branch.  Blooms appear in late spring which help to protect them from frosts in cool-spring climates.  Pollution tolerant, they make superb specimens in the urban landscape.
Magnolia kobus var. loebneri 'Merrill'Magnolia MerrillThis lovely Magnolia produces masses of large white starry flowers in April.  Foliage emerges bronzy green maturing to deep green.  Flowers of this vigorous grower are slightly larger than those of Magnolia stellata, 3" across with 15 petals.
Malus 'Branzam'Brandywine CrabIn spring, this crab blooms about 7-10 days later than oriental crabs, and is covered with fragrant, double pink flowers that give it the appearance of being draped in rosebuds.  The large green leaves have a distinct burgundy overcast, while fruit is large and yellow.
Malus 'Camzam'Camelot CrabThis dwarf cultivar has a nice compact form and thick, leathery dark green leaves with an overcast of burgundy.  The flowers open from red buds to blooms of fuschia pink on white, to be followed by rich burgundy fruit.  
Malus 'Centzam'Centuriun CrabVigorous, upright when young, becoming oval with maturity.  The red buds open to single, rose red flowers in spring followed by 5/8", attractive, glossy, cherry red fruit that persist into winter.  Reddish purple spring foliage matures to bronze green in summer and finally to rust orange in fall.  Very disease resistant to cedar apple rust, mildew and fire blight.
Malus 'Indian Magic'Indian Magic CrabThis Robert Simpson introduction has dark green foliage and beautiful fruit of glossy red that changes to golden orange.  The fruit of this disease resistant crab persists all winter and attracts birds.
Malus ' Kelsey'Kelsey CrabThe purple pink blooms of this Canadian crab have white markings at the base of each of it's 16 petals.  Named Manitoba's Centennial Tree, it bears bronze green foliage and persistent, dark purple fruit. 
Malus 'Prairiefire'Prairiefire CrabThis disease resistant cross has especially good foliage retention during summer.  It blooms later than most crabs.  The bark is a glossy dark red with numerous prominent lenticels, and the fruit does not drop.
Malus 'JFS-KW5'Royal RaindropsCertainly one of the prettiest red leafed crabapples we've seen.  Has a better summer color and appearance than most red leaf crabapples.  Abundant magenta pink blooms stand out handsomely against reddish purple, cutleaf foliage.  Shows good resistance to fireblight.
Malus 'Bailears'First Editions Ruby Tears CrabA seedling found a Beverley Nursery in Indiana.  Naturally weeping form, similar to 'Louisa' and burgundy green foliage much like 'Prairiefire'.  Pink flowers cover the pendulous branches each spring on this graceful small tree.  Attractive, dark red fruit.
Physocarpus opulifolius 'Monlo'Diabolo Ninebark TreeDiabolo' has always been popular because of its beautiful reddish purple foliage but this tree forms adds a whole new dimension.  The white, exfoliating bark is unforgettable.  Plant as an accent.  Some pruning will be necessary.
Robinia pseudoacacia 'Lacy Lady'Twisty Baby LocustA small tree with interesting, twisted branches.  Beautiful hanging white blossoms in spring.  Suitable as a specimen plant and quite attractive as a patio plant in a large decorative container.  Adds a great deal of winter interest to a border.  Prune to encourage contorted growth.  Full sun to light shade.
Salix alba 'Tristis'Niobe Weeping WillowThis fast growing, golden barked Willow has a wide spreading canopy and long, golden drooping branches.  An extremely graceful tree, it prefers moist planting sites.
Sorbus aucupariaEuropean Mountain AshA valuable ornamental tree bears showy orange red fruits in August through September.  It prefers acid soils with good drainage.
Sorbus decoraShowy Mountain AshThis smaller ornamental tree is grown for its white flowers, handsome foliage and showy red fruit.  The hardiest of the species in this country, it is slow growing and resistant to disease.
Tilia x flavescens 'Glenleven'Glenleven LindenSelected in Canada by Sheridan Nursery, this fast growing tree has a straight trunk and larger leaves than other T. cordata selections.

Berberis thunbergii 'Rose Glow'Rose Glow BarberryA sport of Red Leaf Barberry from Europe with attractive variegated foliage, yellow flowers and red fruit.  Place in full sun for best color.  An attractive specimen plant and can be used to create an interesting colored hedge.
   
Buxus 'Glencoe'Chicagoland Green BoxwoodSelected for its excellent cold hardiness, surviving -32 degrees F with no dieback.  A fine textured evergreen shrub that tolerates pruning and shearing well.  Often used as a small hedge and for topiary.  Preferes well-drained soil and some protection from winter winds.
Clethra alnifolia 'Caleb'Vanilla Spice SummersweetVanilla Spice has attractive glossy, dark green leaves.  Its extra large pure white flowers are very fragrant and act as a magnet for butterflies.  Each flower is roughly the size of a dime, about twice the size of any other Clethra.  The habit is neat, tidy and compact.  Fills the garden with a wonderful fragrance during the late summer months.
Cornus sericea 'Cardinal'Cardinal Red Osier DogwoodThis Dogwood was selected for its bright red winter twig color.  A hybrid Dogwood that was developed by the U of Minnesota in 1986.
Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'Royal Purple SmokebushPanicles of beige flowers in midsummer.  May experience winter injury, but recovers quickly to make a fine plant each year.  Does best when planted in full sun.  Xeriscape plant.  
Cotinus coggygria 'Young Lady'Young Lady SmokebushYoung Lady has exceptional blooming qualities.  Even as a one gallon, every terminal results in a bloom from June to August.  The bloom is replaced by an excellent orange-red fall color.
Daphne burkwoodii 'Carol Mackie'Carol Mackie DaphneA prolific bloomer, covered with clusters of fragrant pink 1/2" flowers in May.  Red berries 1/3" wide.  Striking variegated foliage forms a dense mounded shape.  Requires a cool, dry or well-drained site and preferably alkaline soil.  Excessive moisture must be avoided.  Daphnes are susceptible to high root temperatures.  Sun or Partial Shade.

Hydrangea arborescens 'PIIHA-I'Endless Summer Bella Anna HydrangeaA remarkable reblooming pink arborescens with a personality all her own.  Finally the color code of Annabelle has been cracked with this newest member of the Endless Summer Collection.  Bella Anna has the incredible ability to bloom on new wood, with beautiful magenta-pink blooms that are constant from summer to fall.  Bella Anna also features strong stems ensuring the blooms stand tall and proud.
Hydrangea macrophylli 'Bailmer'Endless Summer The Original Bigleaf HydrangeaA mophead type hydrangea with the unique ability to bloom consistantly on both old and new wood.  The result is a plant that provides beautiful flowers all summer long.  The flowers grow up to 8" in diameter, with pink blooms in alkaline soils and blue blooms in acidic soils.  Since Endless Summer blooms on new wood, removal of spent flowers will encourage new bloom.

Hydrangea paniculata 'Le Vasterival'First Editions Great Star HydrangeaAdd star power to your garden with this paniculata discovery.  The flowers open to large white wavy star shaped florets that can be up to 4" in width.  Flowering starts mid summer and will last until the first hard frost to give your garden lasting summer star power.  This low maintenance shrub will make a great backdrop in a sun or part shade garden and the color blends wonderfully with other colors.

Rhus Typhina 'Bailtiger'First Editions Tiger Eyes Cutleaf Staghorn SumacA beautiful golden leafed form of Cutleaf Staghorn Sumac.  New growth is a lively chartreuse green, quickly changing to yellow, both colors contrast nicely with the rosy pink leaf stems.  The branches angle upward white the deeply cut leaflets drape downward, giving it a rather oriental look.
Salix discolorPussy WillowHardiest of the Pussy Willows.  Large shrub or small tree up to 20' with silvery catkins appearing before leaves.  Deep brown branches.
