Reduce Reuse Recycle

Each season an unbelievable amount of nursery related plastic is generated by the nursery industry.  Green Thumb would like to give back to the community by helping keep nursery related products out of the landfills.   We provide a drop off collection bin at the edge of our parking lot for (reasonably) clean nursery pots (4” and larger) and flats in reusable condition. 

 

Many pots can be sanitized as needed for reuse at our nursery.  Materials we cannot use are distributed to others small growers for reuse, and upon request, shared with the public for personal use. Unfortunately at this time our contributions are limited to reuse, since no cost effective recycling resources are available locally, it is our hope in the future to also offer recycle services.

 

In the past, the sanitization and sorting steps have been done by youth groups in exchange for a donation to their organization.  Interested groups may inquire at (715) 854-3250.
